12 How to make PCBs efficiently using panelization

Need to make more than 1 PCB?  If so, watch this video as I walk you through the process of using a panelization process to make it much faster than making them one-by-one.

This is the twelfth  video in a 12 part series about how to make Printed Circuit Boards (PCBs) at home.  This series will cover most of the tasks involved in the entire process from design to completion.

11 How to make a two sided PCB with surface mount pads

Stepping up the process from a single sided PCB, in this video I will explain the process to make a double sided PCB for surface mount and through hole components and also legends on the top surface.  There is a lot going on in this process and any misstep can render the PCB a failure!

Engraving the Legends on the PCB

The final step in the process is to engrave the letters on the top surface.  Seemingly easy, but there are a few tricks you need to know to get good alignment between the first side and the top side.

Adding protection with Tinning and painting the top for the letter engraving

While optional, these steps make for a MUCH better PCB.  Tinning is performed to tin the copper to prevent it from corroding and to also aid in the soldering process.  Paint is applied to the top surface so that the legend (letter) engraving stands out and is readable.  Plenty of tips are offered to make this a reliable process.

08 Performing the Isolation Milling on the bottom copper side

It is time to start the 'making' process, we will be performing the first operation of the process. Provided is a walk though of all the steps to setup and run this operation. The exacts steps may be different depending on what machine you have.

This is the eighth video in a 12 part series about how to make Printed Circuit Boards (PCBs) at home.  This series will cover most of the tasks involved in the entire process from design to completion.
